About us

A taste worth stopping for in Kavarskas.

Serving guests since 1992

When you arrive in Kavarskas, you cannot miss the St John the Baptist spring, known since the 16th century and surrounded by many legends. Its water is said to be miraculous: healing, refreshing and strengthening. Next to this popular visitor attraction is the „ŠALTINIS“ café-bar.

At our café, we cherish what matters most – traditional Lithuanian cuisine and simple, familiar flavours. Every dish is prepared in keeping with culinary heritage traditions. Every day we cook a fresh soup of the day, shape our much-loved dumplings by hand, make tender curd dumplings and steaming cepelinai. We want every bite to bring you back to the warmth of a genuine Lithuanian home kitchen.
